The panniers themselves are a set of bicycle panniers I bought at REI. A lot of the work involved removing the existing mounting system by grinding off the stainless steel rivets (not fun, many hours with a Dremel tool). The delrin blocks are white because they had that in stock and I was fed up with working on the project (went through 2 retaining systems prior to figuring out the block system). I would have had to wait an unknown amount of time for them to get black in stock. Mounting the bags involves sliding the bag onto the sideplates from back to front. When they line up the bent pins are inserted vertically and the bags are held captive. The black lower mount there has a cutaway such that it ends up on the inside surface of the side plate.
