This shows tyhe slots I cut into the fender and the piece I made to finish off the bottom of the slot.

As you can see the idea is to have the fender at stock height for normal use but when needed I would stop and loosen the bolts and slide the fender up for some clearance. The rear fender mounts got a similar treatment.

This was one of those project where you're halfway through it and just want to find a gun and stop the pain. I must have spent 40 hours on this by the time it was all said and done. And of course I still need to putz with the hardware as the stuff I had in the garage that I thought would fit is too hard to use for the quick stop and adjustment scenario that I wanted to have.

But as we all know this pretty much guarantees I will never come to a situation where I would need to raise the fender for clearance.
