The leaking side had been sucking in debris as well as blowing out oil and built up a layer of silt on the bottom of the tube and this is the fork valve holder that is at the bottom of that tube. The bike sat for about a week before I got into the forks but in normal use I would think the silt is running through the valving during use. After the week of sitting everything settled at the bottom and the sludge was *very* thick.
