You have to get both this joint and the connector to Innovation canister joint gas tight for the best sound and performance. There is a brass ferule on the pipe with the OEM catalytic converter and you have to use that and some aluminum shimming material to build up a collar on the header for the connector to clamp onto. It's the only tricky part of the install. The rough edge at the joint is the aluminum can material I used to shim up the joint.
